đĄ Welcome (to our new home)
Hello!
Welcome to The Bibliotherapists, a podcast for bookworms and word nerds from Substackers and community builders, Tanya Lynch (@withease / EASE Retreats) and Toni Jones (The Shelf Help Club), exploring the healing power of words.
This podcast is a love letter to reading, writing and storytelling, featuring conversations with some of our favourite Substack authors and creatives, including; Emma Gannon, Beth Kempton, Daisy Buchanan, Clover Stroud, Sam Baker, Claire Venus, Donna Lancaster and Jennie Godfrey.
The Bibliotherapists began life in November 2024, and 2 x Series and 18 x Episodes later weâve clocked up more than 50k downloads and topped the Apple bookish charts.
Weâve interviewed bestsellers and bookshop sellers as well as memoirists and therapists (you can find every previous episode in the Archive section, and you can read/listen all about us and how our respective love affairs with books began in Episodes #1 and #2 ).
This is a show for anyone who dog-ears pages, loses sleep over âjust one more chapter,â and genuinely believes the right book at the right moment can change everything. (Because it can. And we have an embarrassing stack of receipts to prove it.)
So why subscribe?
For each episode we have a digital sit down with a brilliant, bookish mind to find out what theyâre reading and recommending right now, how words have shaped their lives, what their reading and writing practices look like, how they use Substack, and - the big one - the book that changed their life.
Whether youâre already a loud and proud reading addict looking to top up your TBR pile or simply curious about what writers have on their bookshelves, our hope is that youâll leave each episode feeling inspired and ready to read more (we know youâll be ready to hit the book shop).
This publication is our new home and will be the place we share all episodes and guest book recs.
And for Series #3 weâre doing everything LIVE!
Series #3
For our next series you can join us broadcasting live on Substack (because book chats are even better when shared in real time).
As Subscribers youâll be able to ask questions direct to us and our guests, and this season weâll be joined by fiction stars, writing coaches, anti-gurus, bookfluencers and even a book witch!
And if you miss the lives youâll be able to catch up on the audio and/or video versions on the interviews in your own time here at The Bibliotherapists Substack page.
What to do now
Series #3 of the Bibliotherapists starts Mon 2nd March, with a new episode following every Wednesday across March and April. So save the date, tell a friend. share on Substack. Tell anyone you know whoâs ever loved a book, quoted a book, or cried ugly tears over a book. The more the merrier here; our reading list runneth over and thereâs always room for one more on the sofa.
We canât wait to share this next chapter with you.
Come join us. Your next favourite book is probably only one episode away.
Toni & Tan, your Bibliotherapists xx
